2021 Civic Elections

This new page has been set up to help provide residents with a picture of the candidates for both Ward 8 and the mayoral race. As we head into the election, we will be asking residents what questions they have for the candidates. From there, we will reach out to both the mayoral and councillor candidates for our ward, and post their responses on this page. We will do this several times over the course of the election so that residents have a chance to weigh in.

For the first round, we informed candidates that we are extremely concerned about the potential sale of part(s) of Richmond Green Park, and that it is a regional park. We indicated that we would like a brief statement from the candidate regarding his/her own thoughts on the potential sale of regional park space, and a brief statement about his/her core vision if he/she elected in October.

We reached out to ALL of the candidates who had declared themselves on the City website as of March 27, 2021. You can find their uploaded responses to questions below, to the right (underlined text).
